End of the KEEN year!

The KEEN year ended in style with our end of year finale, the KEEN Olympics, on Saturday 19th June 2010, thanks to everyone – athletes, parents and coaches, that joined us for the afternoon, I hope you enjoyed yourselves!
KEEN sessions have now finished for the summer, sessions will resume the week beginning Monday 11th October, and all athletes and GrEAT members will receive termcards and letters in September.
Thank you to everyone that came along to KEEN this year and helped make it such a great year!
I hope you all have a lovely summer!

Final Week of Term!

As I’m sure you are all aware this week is the final week of the KEEN term and in fact the year, we have lots of fun and exciting things planned, including the end of year finale the KEEN Olympics!

Here’s a brief summary of all the amazing end of term activities we have planned:
Monday, 14th June: The last GrEAT of the year!  Join us for our Hawaiian party complete with BBQ,7.30pm-9.30pm at the St. Clement’s Family Centre. Make sure you come in your best Hawaiian gear!
Friday, 18th June: Zig-Zag: End of term performance: join us for a montage of this term’s Myths and Legends themed sessions, 4.45-6pm at the St. Clement’s Family Centre.
Friday, 18th June: KEEN Teens: End of term Party! Help us celebrate the end of term, 6.10-7.15pm at the St. Clement’s Family Centre.
Saturday, 19th June: KEEN Olympics, the end of year finale! Join us for the highlight of the KEEN calendar, 1.45-5pm, New College Sports Ground.
No matter if you have been to one session or twenty it would be great to see you this week, so come along and help us see out the end of year in style!

Join us for Allsorts this Saturday!

Allsorts, our Saturday afternoon sports session, is the biggest session of the KEEN week. 

 

It would be great to see lots of people coming along this week!

 

With sunshine forecast this Saturday, albeit sunny intervals, why not come to Allsorts for an afternoon full of sporting fun and games!

 

Join us THIS Saturday 12th June at New College Sports Ground, St. Cross Road (map). The session will run from 1.45 until 5pm – Short of time? Just come for half the session: 1.45pm-3.20pm (younger athletes) and 3.30pm-5pm (Older athletes).

 

This Saturday’s session will be a little different to the typical Allsorts session, as to make up for cancelling the Treasure Hunt a couple of weeks ago, we will be having Alice in Wonderland themed session complete with a few of the traditions essential to a KEEN Treasure hunt. So go on, join us for some Alice in Wonderland themed fun!

New volunteers welcome, absolutely no sporting ability required just enthusiasm!

KEEN Fun Run!

A massive thank you and a huge well done to everyone that took part in the KEEN fun run on Sunday 30th May!
 
 
Thank you also to everyone that
came along and helped out and to those who were there to support everyone that was taking part.
 
 
A fantastic morning was had by all – starting with an enthusiastic warm up, we then started the race where we had a varied array of competitors taking part thanks to some imaginative costumes, everything from Batman, to a team of Harry Hills, Tigger, a Hawaiian lady, a 118 man, a cow girl and even a piece of cake!
 
Everyone managed to keep going for the whole half an hour of the race –many laps of the course were completed, some even made it to double figures!
 
Well done everyone!
 
After the race everyone was given a certificate for taking part leaving just enough time for a celebratory Hokey Cokey!
 
The Oxford mail even came along to see what we were up to, why not have a read of their article!

KEEN sessions now running!

Each week of term there are four regular KEEN sessions, why not join us?
 
GrEAT, our social club for over 18s takes place every Monday evening, usually 7.30-9.30pm, at the St. Clement’s Family Centre. We like to get out and about around Oxford as much as possible, so check the KEEN review or email keen@keenoxford.org, for details of what we’re up to this week!
 
Zig-Zag, our drama workshop for under 18s takes place every Friday at the St. Clement's Family Centre from 4.45pm until 6pm. The theme for this term is Myths and legends, so come along and join us for some fantasy fun!
 
KEEN Teens, our social club for 11 to 17 year olds takes place every Friday evening at the St. Clement's Family Centre from 6.10pm until 7.15pm. KEEN Teens is always a really fun session, so come along and start your weekend off on the right foot!
 
Allsorts, our Saturday afternoon sports session and the biggest session of the KEEN week!
The session runs from 1.45pm until 5pm at New College Sports Ground, just off St. Cross Road.Not got much time? Come for half of the session – 1.45-3.20pm (Younger session) then 3.30-5pm (Older session). 
No sporting ability required, just enthusiasm! Why not come along?
 
Volunteering with KEEN is completely non-commitment and there is no experience necessary - just enthusiasm!
New Volunteers always welcome!
