Who pays for KEEN?
KEEN is financed entirely by donations and grants. These funds are used to buy equipment, hire sporting facilities, run daytrips, pay for activities such as bowling, ice skating and theatre trips, provide transport for athletes and coaches, and pay the salaries of the KEEN co-ordinator, KEEN Sports Co-ordinator and the office assistant.
All our regular activities are completely free for all the children and volunteers who take part, apart from our over 18s session GrEAT, for which members (not volunteers) have to pay a small subscription fee, partly to help finance the session and partly to help them learn manage their finances. We also ask for a contribution from members who attend exceptional events where we have limited numbers of places. Over the past two years this has been a contribution towards our summer residential trip to Mersea Island Festival.
Special events held throughout the year for the athletes and regular training sessions for coaches necessitate further expenditure.
Contributions of all sizes are greatly appreciated and really do make a big difference to the activities we can provide. The Cost of KEEN
- £4 will pay for one athlete to go ice skating
- £7 will pay for the transport of one volunteer to and from an AllSorts session
- £7.50 will pay for one athlete to go bowling
- £10 will pay for minibus transport for an athlete to and from a session
- £14 will pay for the hall rent for one GrEAT session
- £24 will pay for the room rent for one training session for volunteers
- £72 will pay for a swimming party
- £150 will pay for the Christmas Party
- £270 will pay for the hall rent for one AllSorts sports session
- £2 000 will pay for office rent for a year
- £2 880 will pay for volunteer transport to AllSorts for a year
- £8 000 will pay for athlete transport within Oxford for the year
