Zig-Zag

Zig-Zag is our weekly drama, music and craft workshop aimed at primary school aged children.

What can I expect to happen at a Zig-Zag session?

The sessions begins with a game of duck, duck goose while everyone’s being paired up, and then we launch straight the week’s activities. Activities include games, art, craft, music and drama. Each activity is led by the Zig-Zag session leaders. The session ends with everyone joining in with the Hokey Cokey.

Each term the Zig-Zag co-ordinators chose a different theme, taking into account suggestions by the athletes. Recent themes have included the Myths and Legends, Fairytales, Childrens Stories and the works of Shakespeare .

As with all KEEN sessions, the athletes gain a lot of confidence, pride, and a sense of belonging, and they have the chance to socialise and engage activities which are readily afforded to their more able peers. The emphasis at Zig-Zag is on integration, creativity and fun.

When and where are the Zig-Zag sessions held?

Zig-Zag takes place every Friday from 4.45pm to 6pm in the St.Clement’s Family Centre just off Morrell Avenue at the bottom of Headington Hill. If you take the bus, your ticket will be refunded.

Check the review or e-mail keen@keenoxford.org for directions.
