Our work with the community

KEEN sessions are great - they are lots of fun and everyone involved really enjoys them. However, what will really make the difference in our journey towards an inclusive society is getting lots of the local Oxford sports clubs on board and involved in the movement.

Therefore, we are partnering with a number of sports teams from across the Oxford area, supporting them in their efforts to become more inclusive. It’s been a big success so far, and we’re looking forward to seeing these partnerships develop over the next year and beyond.

There’s lots of opportunities to get involved with these really exciting projects, both as a volunteer and as a participant. Read on to find out more! The map gives an overview of all of our partner clubs, and their location within the Oxford area. Below that is a list of specific opportunities that some of our current partner clubs are currently recruiting for (both participants and volunteers).

If you want to get involved, at any of the clubs listed on the map, or have any questions about the specific opportunities below, please don’t hesitate to drop Dylan, our Sports Partner manager, a message at dylan@keenoxford.org.

Our sports partners

We are incredibly proud of our partner clubs, and the work they are doing in making Oxford a more inclusive place. The more inclusive sporting opportunities the better, and we are trying to impact all communities in Oxford, in particular by working with clubs from all regions of Oxford (as you can see from the annotated map below. These clubs are making active steps towards becoming more inclusive, and if you want to get involved, or just find out more about them, please contact us! Collaboration with charities in the community

There are lots of great organisations in Oxford, all working towards improving inclusion within our community. We feel it is absolutely crucial for us all to work together to share resources and ideas - and together we can make more of a difference!

Read on to find out more about some of the charities we are partnering with, and how you can take advantage of all our partner charities.

Gig Buddies are a branch organisation of My Life My Choice, in partnership with three other Restore, Age UK Oxfordshire, and Aspire.

Participants are matched with a volunteer buddy, and both attend the same ‘gig’ together. This ‘gig’ can be anything (including the KEEN sessions or KEEN Sports Partner Club opportunities listed above!), from music concerts to the gym.

If you are interested in having a buddy to help you access and travel to opportunities you are interested in, or acting as a volunteer buddy, please get in contact with either Dylan at KEEN, or Yazz at Gig Buddies (contact yazz@mylifemychoice.org.uk).
