KEEN Oxford have been nominated for the RAG Charity Ballot, and we need your vote!
Need more convincing than that? Read below for five reasons you should vote KEEN Oxford in this year’s RAG Charity Ballot.
1 - We have over 400 disabled and non-disabled young people sign-in every week with our Virtual KEEN activities. That’s a whole lot of smiles, jokes and laughter.
Currently, we’re running 18 inclusive, virtual activities each week with everything from KEEN choir to KEENs Got Talent, yoga to chatrooms and so much more.
2 - Our work impacts the wider community. We are leading the way with our ambitious vision to make Oxfordshire fully inclusive by 2030. We are aiming to:
Unite our community and bring all organisations together to progress towards inclusion
Work with disabled people to make Oxfordshire the easiest place for them and their families to access the information and support that is important to them.
3 - Our volunteering opportunities are for people from all backgrounds. Whether you’re at school, university or part of the local community, we’re a big friendly family and love having everybody join us. One volunteer recently told us
“KEEN really has been a lifeline for me since March.”
4 - We work with other local charities, organisations and clubs to make our provision as fun, accessible and inclusive as possible. Over Christmas we partnered with Yellow Submarine, Oxford Mencap and the Oxford Bus Company to deliver 250 presents to participants on a giant sparkly bus. More recently, we’ve teamed up with the Oxford University Hockey Club to bring an additional weekly sports zoom session. These partnerships mean we are constantly bringing people together and working across the sector and the community.
5 - Where else can you do Dinosaur Yoga, learn how tall the Eiffel Tower is in giraffes, be taught Makaton Signs at Choir and be guaranteed a little smile at the end of your day?
